Automated Packaging Systems puts ‘quality’ first with new appointment

Automated Packaging Systems has appointed Calvin Hankins as Quality and Improvements Manager, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring complete efficiency throughout all areas of the business, after recently updating its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for quality management.

Hankins brings more than 26 years of packaging experience to the company and will use the Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) method to streamline work, reduce waste and enhance the production of products, enabling the team to identify relevant opportunities and maximise financial savings.

The role will also involve customer interaction and see Hankins respond and react to specific requests to meet ever-changing customer requirements.

Hankins said: “Essentially, if you don’t have quality, you don’t have customers, and therefore every business should dedicate resource to assessing quality and internal processes to ensure the customer journey is as smooth as possible.

“Automated Packaging Systems recognises the importance of quality and, as a result, has invested a lot of time and money in this area. It’s great to work for such a forward-thinking business that continually explores opportunities for progression, which is highlighted by its recent ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for quality management.”

ISO 9001:2015 ensures Automated Packaging Systems has the correct logistics and processes in place to improve quality control of products and services, providing customers with complete transparency of internal processes, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing the risk of errors.

Hankins added: “Family is at the heart of the company’s ethos and it’s motivational to know that any improvements are carried out for the greater good of the business. I look forward to maximising potential opportunities to refine our processes and engaging directly with customer requests to enhance the customer experience.”

Peter Wylie, Automated Packaging Systems Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Calvin to the team and we’re confident his industry experience and quality expertise will be a major asset to the team. Our customers expect products and services of the highest standard and we take quality very seriously. We actively work to ensure our customers have access to the most efficient, high-quality, environmentally conscious packaging products and materials available, and Calvin will play a key role in this process.”
