The manufacturing division of a high street chemist approached Automated Packaging Systems when it reviewed its cosmetics distribution. Items such as lipstick and mascara had previously been packed into cardboard cartons in sets of three but the cost of packaging material was becoming prohibitive.
It switched from cardboard boxes to Automated Packaging Systems’ ‘bags-on-a-roll’. Packaging costs have been slashed by 70%, downtime has been cut, and product damage during transit has been hugely reduced. The company now operates seven baggers to pack a wide range of products.
