 Printing That Makes an Impression

High-impact, graphic intensive consumer packaging is vital when selling products into highly competitive consumer markets.  But is now the right time to invest in state of the art print facilities?

According to global bagging experts Automated Packaging Systems, investment is perhaps more important now than ever.  But in today’s challenging global trading environment, every investment must demonstrate tangible value-added benefits for customers.  Mike Healey, European Marketing Manager for Automated Packaging Systems explains:  “Our print capability is a cornerstone of partnership with our brand owning customers.  It’s for that reason alone

that we are expanding Automated Packaging Systems’ high-end colour printing capabilities in the US. While acknowledging the challenges facing firms during the recession, Mr Wylie says APS is well positioned to weather the storm and help its customers excel.

“The new 10 colour flexographic printing press will be used for Autobag and SidePouch bag packaging materials, printing onto a range of polyethylene, polypropylene and co-extruded films.”

Capable of printing high resolution graphics, the 10 colour press includes a state-of-the-art video inspection system that continuously scans for defects and monitors colour variation.  The most common applications for this high quality custom printing are high-end retail, food and pet supply packaging.

Automated Packaging Systems investment programme isn’t limited to the US.  Investing on both sides of the Atlantic, its global investment programme includes a huge new stock and warehouse facility at its European headquarters in Malvern, due for completion in Spring 2009.
