Automated Packaging Systems celebrates the launch of the long-awaited flexible food packaging solution: FAS SPrint Revolution combines flexibility, efficiency and reliability in a system equipped to operate in clean environments requiring daily wash-down.

The new system will appeal to IQF food producers as well as those packing fresh fruits and vegetables, dried foods and confectionary. It uses single source recyclable packaging, appealing to food producers and processors wishing to minimise the volume and weight of food packaging without compromising brand value and product security.

Now the company has entered the food sector with a system specifically engineered to deliver flexibility, traceability and high-end branding for short and medium length product runs.

Operating at speeds up to 22 metres per minute, FAS SPrint Revolution represents a simple, highly efficient step-up from hand bagging, enabling producers to pack up to six times faster than by hand. Bag changeovers can be done in minutes by the operator, and the whole system can be commissioned and de-commissioned quickly, meeting demands for total flexibility from seasonal producers and packers handling a broader range of product lines. 

For speed and efficiency the FAS SPrint Revolution presents a conveyor of pre-opened bags ready for loading. The 1.5m wide load area features a 150mm pass-through that tilts vertically for easy maintenance and cleaning, and an innovative coordinated motion seal flattener is coupled with a band sealing system to ensure high quality bag seals.

The system has been designed for ease of operation, serviceability, integration, and reliability, featuring an integrated Allen-Bradley® control package, featuring Kinetix® Servo motors and drives, a CompactLogix™ L45 PLC, and a large, 250mm PanelView™ Plus HMI. The AutoTouch™ Control Software displays real time productivity data and provides easy access to job storage, job recall and on-board system diagnostics.

Genuine SidePouch® bags offer essential features such as resealable openings and tamper-evident perforations. They are available in a variety of materials that can be pre-printed in up to 7 colours with high-resolution graphics, text and bar codes for unique, attractive packaging with a competitive edge.
